REBECCA ORSINI MSW, RSW

Hello
I am a registered social worker in clinical practice who specializes in providing mental health treatment to birthing and non-birthing individuals during pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond.
I believe in targeting issues as early as possible in order to help prevent illness. In addition to psychotherapy, I offer consultative services that aim to empower clients and reveal existing strengths in an effort to mitigate future mental health challenges.

More About Me.
For many years I focused my career in paediatric mental health before expanding my scope to work with adults, in both hospital and community settings. This experience includes crisis intervention, outreach and case management, group facilitation, trauma therapy and individual psychotherapy, in various positions in Toronto and Ottawa (Youthdale Treatment Centres, Central Toronto Youth Services, the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), and The Ottawa Hospital).
Becoming a parent inspired my specific interest in maternal mental health. I have become passionate about helping clients navigate their way through pregnancy, postpartum, and parenthood, in addition to providing psychotherapy for other mental health challenges. Through care and humour, I strive to give non-judgemental support and to engage clients in problem solving that translates well into 'real life' outside of sessions.
Treatment services are offered through an eclectic, trauma-informed therapeutic approach that is grounded in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and complemented by elements of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. I am a Certified Perinatal Mental Health practitioner (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International and attend regular professional development opportunities to keep current in best practices.
I hold a Masters of Social Work from Carleton University and am a member in good standing of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW).
